MUSIC WEEK #8

What a week. Not a great week but a good week. Good in that I have had knee surgery now. Bad in that well, I am still basically immobile. And pain too. Jeeeeeeeeeeezzzzzzzzzzzzzz but oh well. I'll live.

As ever, here is a list of the music and other stuff that I have written about on YES/NO MUSIC over the past week. Friday-to-Friday coverage yo.

LIES - ESCAPE I/S/M
Deep hypnotic vibes from Italy

SUMMER TWINS - FORGET ME // I'M NO GOOD
1950s-prom-night sounds with doo-wop vocals

SCNTST - SUMMER JAM EP
A seriously summery house venture

ELEN NEVER SLEEPS - RUM
Unique Japanese lounge-indie

SAINT PEPSI - I TRIED
R&B-inspired retro chill funk

INTERVIEW: EMUFUCKA
Beats musician and recent participant in Red Bull Music Academy answers the Qs

SPAZZKID LIVE ON #SPF420
A lush 25-minute trip through the delicious sound of Spazzkid

MR OIZO - SECAM
Oizo's back with a noisy number for Ed Banger's 10th anniversary

CAYUCAS - EAST COAST GIRL
Coastal pop

MOON BOOTS - LOVE STRONG
Smooth smooth summer house

VISAプリペイド - OGASAWARA
Watery slow-down chill

FOREST SWORDS - THOR'S STONE
Experimental with explosive flute sound

So whilst I really did enjoy the live set from Spazzkid, I am intrigued by Elen Never Sleeps, obsessed with the sound of SAINT PEPSI and others, and pleased with the return of Forest Swords. But I enjoyed everything. Or rather everything enjoyed me because 'en-' is a prefix that forms verbs to do with causing some state change within the object it is directed to (enliven, endanger, enrich, enlarge, etc.) so when you look at it that way how does the common use of it make sense?

Soz for off topic lol
